Clayton Mozingo is CEO of Second Fifty, having founded the company in 2013 to build upon his substantial experience in real estate development, and to satisfy a market need that met with his core values. Mr. Mozingo has been a real estate developer since 2002, when he was tasked with building his father’s 8,000 sf medical office building in Lumberton, NC. He later worked as a project director on the 7 million sf Harbor Point project in Stamford, CT, working for both Antares and Building & Land Technology. He has built over 1 million sf of diversified product over his career.
Mr. Mozingo is a graduate of the College of Charleston and received an MBA from the University of Georgia. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the College of Charleston’s Alumni Association, as well as a member of Urban Land Institute and American Seniors Housing Assoc. Mr. Armstrong serves as the Vice President of Real Estate for Second Fifty Communities. Prior to joining the Second Fifty team Mr. Armstrong was a commercial real estate advisor with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. While at Newmark he provided a full array of commercial real estate advisory services to clients throughout Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. As part of the Newmark leasing team, Mr. Armstrong represented 6 million square feet of some of Metro New York’s most prestigious landlords including, Amtrust Realty Corporation, Celestial Capital Group, Healthcare Trust of America, Onyx Equities, Ivy Realty, RPW Group, RXR Realty and Simone Development Companies.
Mr. Armstrong earned a bachelor's degree from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. While at The Citadel, Mr. Armstrong was a four-time All-Conference tight end on the football team as well as a pre-season Walter Camp All-American candidate. Mr. Mozingo has been involved in real estate and development since 2003 when he started building communities in Southeastern NC. Throughout the years, he has been involved in every facet of real estate including construction, development, and sales. His experience overseeing the construction of smaller residential communities on up to larger 30,000 square foot private residences, gas stations, and senior living communities adds a valuable layer of expertise and knowledge to the Second Fifty team. He is a LEED AP®, HERS Rater, Building Scientist, Building Envelope Professional, and NAHB Green Builder. While he has lived up and down the East Coast from Georgia to Connecticut, he has always called Charleston and the Carolinas home.
Mr. Mozingo attended the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY and is a graduate of the College of Charleston. He is a licensed real estate broker and REALTOR® in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. John Walsh brings 14 years of CRE experience, primarily in the southeast. Since 2013, he has managed West Passage Capital, representing a large bank and several smaller clients, including Second Fifty, on consulting and advisory assignments. Prior, Mr. Walsh was Director at The Roseview Group in Boston, advising large banks on distressed CRE assets, pursuing separate account acquisitions, and transacting in CRE and Residential loan portfolios. Mr. Walsh’s career began at ING Clarion on the southeast acquisitions team, purchasing CRE assets for institutional clients. He later joined NY Credit Advisors as part of the initial start-up team and originated and syndicated CRE debt and preferred equity instruments. Surrounding his graduate work, he worked at both Paradigm Properties and Gilbane Development.
John holds a BA from Princeton University and holds MBA and MSF degrees from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He is an Eagle Scout and a volunteer youth lacrosse coach.
